How to Choose a Smart Watch
Choose a smart watch by phone compatibility first, then budget, then battery life, water rating and sensors. In Kenya, decide early whether you need an original brand or a labelled budget model so price and expectations match.
1. Match the phone
Apple Watch needs iPhone. Galaxy Watch needs Android for full features. Huawei, Amazfit, Xiaomi and most budget watches support both with different app quality.
If you use Android, compare the Galaxy Watch FE with the Huawei Watch Fit 3.
2. Set a hard budget
Use our price band pages. Under KSh 3,000 is almost always budget hardware. Original bands appear under KSh 10,000.
3. Battery and sensors
Multi-day battery usually means a band or Amazfit/Huawei class watch. Apple Watch is a daily charge device. Heart rate and SpO2 on budget units are estimates.
4. Kids GPS needs
Parents should prioritise SIM calling and a working parent app. See the Kids GPS Watch 4G SIM.
5. Straps and charging
Confirm lug width and charger type. Our 22mm silicone strap and magnetic charger fit many non-Apple models only.
